On 26 November 2024 former Deputy Director of the Rural Support Service Andris Grundulis was appointed as Director of the Rural Support Service.
"It is with a great sense of responsibility that I have agreed to take on the leadership of the Rural Support Service. I acknowledge that the duties will be challenging but at the same time very interesting. I am confident in achieving all our goals together with my colleagues. Throughout the almost 25 years of the Rural Support Service's existence, the most important values are having a professional team of employees, a customer-oriented approach and reduction of bureaucracy," says Andris Grundulis.
Main priorities for successful work set by Director Andris Grundulis:
Integration of Agricultural Data Centre functions to the Rural Support Service to improve the services provided to farmers, including e-services;
- IT development and introduction of modern technologies to ensure customer-friendly and user-friendly systems and registers;
- Efficiency improvement of the Rural Support Service by simplifying processes and optimising the use of resources;
- Provide necessary training for the staff and promote work-life balance.
